Club Wise Spring Formal sponsored by Bacardi

Whisky Wisemen on April 29th of 2019 kicked of the Club Wise spring Formal. For those who do not know what Club Wise is…

Club Wise aspires to be a multidimensional organization bringing together driven young professionals seeking to grow both personally and professionally. The vision of Club Wise is simple; promoting personal and professional growth and donating our time and proceeds to local charities, all united by a love of whisky.

Our night began with tasty cocktail served up by Kevin Brownlee, Bacardi Portfolio Ambassador for British Columbia. He has played an integral role in Vancouver's cocktail industry over the last 7 years. Formerly an Associate Director with the Canadian Professional Bartender's Association and winner of multiple local and national bartending competitions - including the prestigious Grey Goose Pour Masters Canada, in 2015 - the former Bar Manager of AnnaLena and previous tender of bar at the Pourhouse and West Restaurants has turned in his shaker and strainer for the Ambassador blazer.

Throughout the evening, in true Club Wise fashion, our brand ambassador took us through a 5 part whisky tastings, trying some of the core range that Bacardi’s whisky selection has to over.

Aberfeldy 12: What a wonderful introduction to the Highland’s, this whisky offers a fresh lightly fruit whisky with a smoothly polished finish.

Aberfeldy 16: A perfect blend of sweet on the mouth and spicy as a finish, this bourbon and sherry casks bottle has everything you need in a whisky.

Deveron 12: With scents of apricot and light toffee, this whisky offers a light balanced flavour that was easy to drink!

Craigellachie 13: With a light smoke flavour, sweet with a spicy finish, this was a crowd pleaser for sure!

We then welcomed Bob Marjanovich who discussed tactics and strategy in the workplace finishing our evening with takeaways that cross sections football and sports with how to make your team the most effective.

His love of sports got him into to the sports media business as a freelance writer for Sports Vue, a now defunct sports weekly based out of Vancouver. Bob made his radio debut with the Sports Zone in February of 2001 on CKST 1040, which eventually became TSN 1040.

Moj returned to TSN 1040 in 2006, hosting the still running ‘Sports Saturday’ show with CFL footballer Chris Burners, and playing a large role in the BC Lions broadcasts on TSN 1410.

All in all, this collection of affluent business leaders alongside great whisky and incredible speakers made for one heck of an incredible night!

Cheers!
